Marbled Sunset

This weekend, I met up with fellow blogger and friend Alisha for a chilled afternoon in Surry Hills and Bondi. There are always two things we do when in each others company: Coffee (very important!) and a good catch up about our week. We were both invited to a bloggers lunch at The Winery this Sunday which was a great way to meet fellow fashionista’s in the Sydney area. After our meet up, we made our way to Bondi beach for golden hour. Messina Gelato is a mandatory visit when in the area so we scoffed our faces with coconut and salted caramel yumminess!

My look was pretty relaxed, sporting a monochrome panelled dress from Lavish Alice. It’s nice going back to my roots and introducing British Brands back into my wardrobe again. The dress has a very Alexander Wang feel about it and love the split layering that gives the dress its identity. Earlier this year I bought into the marble trend and I am so happy that this trend has been brought back by many Aussie companies. I must say, August Street has the best cracked paint effect ranges this season, which I’ve been showing my Instagram followers over the last couple of weeks.

This duster coat was a must have for the trans seasonal weather we have in Sydney. Perfect over tees and knits and can definitely see myself cloaking it over a bikini at the beach this summer. I got the one pictured here from a British online store called Fashion Union. Their pieces are on trend and affordable. Plus, it’s a good way to buy into Northern Hemisphere fashion without breaking the bank.

I hope all the Sydneysiders are staying dry this week. The rain has really belted it down. Counting down the days until summer! You can stay up to date on my daily posts by following my Instagram page @bohochic_nlt. Have a good week!

Paddington Reservoir

Fellow blogger, Andrea was telling me how We Are Handsome showcased their summer collection at Paddington Reservoir for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I was eager to check the place out and couldn’t figure out how I’ve not stumbled upon it before. The funny thing is, I’ve passed it multiple times, but because it is hidden from the street I’ve never actually explored it. So grateful I was introduced to this place. The bricks, water and wooden decking with winding stairwells were like a scene out of a movie. It’s crazy to think that walking a couple of metres to the top, your back into one of the busiest shopping districts in Sydney. But all the time you are down there it’s calm, secluded and oozes relaxed vibes.

The rain had finally passed and the sun just started to break through when shooting commenced. Today’s look is a mix of leather and crochet. As you know, I’m a big lover of contrasting materials. You may have seen this skirt in cream a few posts back, which I styled with an oversized sweatshirt. But today, I wanted to express a different mood with a little more sexiness. That’s the beauty of lace and crochet. It’s a versatile fabric that can be dressed up or down. Love the asymmetry of this top and the zip running up the front is so unique. When the weather is not quite warm enough, a trusty vest is always a winner and adds a touch of class to the look. Mules are my go to shoe this season and it’s cool there’s a good selection of open toe, cuban heeled and stiletto choices available.

It’s been a great weekend meeting new bloggers based in Sydney, and really enjoying meeting girls with the same passion for fashion writing. It makes blogging a lot more enjoyable. Hope everyone stayed dry this weekend. I am counting down the days until summer!

Coconut Mint Ice-Cream

North Bondi......cool vibes, stylish beauties and awesome brunch spots. Probably my favourite part of Sydney. I also forgot to mention the pastel apartments that make me feel like an excited tourist, even though I’ve been in Sydney four months! Today’s location was a bit different to the locations I’ve been experimenting with as of late. It was a calm golden hour unlike the recent chinatown and Pitt Street posts. With my outfit being pretty summery, it made sense to shoot near the beach with my friend Andrea. We love Bondi mainly due to the fact there are so many tasty places to eat and spontaneous areas to shoot our looks.

All white is one of my favourite looks. It’s clean, minimal and screams out “I can eat a burrito trying my best not to get a salsa stain”. It was a proud feeling chowing down this Mexican delicacy at Beach Burrito without a spill in sight. And it comes from months of practice wearing a light colour with a good appetite for food!

This Elliatt traveller cape has been a staple item in my wardrobe recently. It smartens up most outfit combos. I especially like it with jeans and a basic tee. Less is definitely more when styling this piece. That’s why I opted for this Minty Meets Munt bralet and skirt. Not too fussy and a simple colour palette that teases us towards the warmer months. The black detailing contrasts well and matches my bag and shoes, without making the look too dark.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! Tomorrow is going to be crazy in Bondi with the City To Surf race so planning on yoga and a chilled one!

Denim & Lace Street Style

Over the last year, street style photography is a pastime that I can’t get enough of. Whether it’s snapping other bloggers, or capturing the style gurus at the entrance at Fashion Week. Personally, this type of fashion photography is the most interesting and it always seems way more eye catching in a city environment. Since my Chinatown post, I have been on the hunt for deep streets that create an off duty Fashion Week vibe.

Yesterday I met up with fellow bloggers and good friends Andrea and Alisha. We caught up over macarons, cake and coffee at one of my favourite international patisseries - Laduree. It’s not quite the same as a summers day, sat under an awning on the Champ De Elysees, but Pitt Street mall in Sydney’s CBD was just as much fun! I love that I have met such great gals in a new city who are just as passionate about fashion and good food! This city is really growing in the blog world, and it’s great that we can all meet up and discuss ideas for the future. Thankfully, they have both lived in Sydney for yonks, so as soon as I told them the environment I was looking for they knew exactly where to shoot this look.

Probably not the most sensible idea getting the shots on a busy city centre road, but you have to take risks to get the best pictures! Andrea was our look out for cars whilst Alisha and I got into our snap happy zone. Luckily, no injuries! Just a few shuffles in heels to dodge oncoming traffic. Texture mixing is something I’m really into whilst transitioning from winter to spring. It was a little chilly, so this Stussy sweatshirt stopped the chill that was whistling through the city streets. Luckily, I picked up this oversized jacket at Bondi markets last week for just $25! It is Australia after all, so braved a lace skirt because the sun was shining. Excuse warranted!

I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the sunshine!
