Denim Done Right

There was a time double denim was just not a good idea (said statement not applicable in 2017). With my denim pieces growing more than any other section of my closet, it’s safe to say that the Canadian tuxedo was inevitable. I have to be honest when I say purchasing jeans online can be hit or miss. All brands fit differently, and it can be pretty tricky for a girl like me with a 30 inch leg and strict policy that high waisted in a non negotiable. My waist is a lot smaller than my hips so anything below that just isn’t as flattering, and in fact makes me look shorter than I am. I always like to try jeans on in a store, but if you are bit of an online shopper like me you will understand that sometimes it’s just easier to take the risk and hope for the best when it comes to the fit. We live in a world revolved around convenience and time saving options right?

Alas GRLFRND denim. Here’s the thing. When you buy one pair, you never have to try on another pair for size again. I now have three pairs, and honestly never had jeans fit so good! Their styles have a vintage feel, where denim feels real. None of this stretchy, thin business. We’re talking sturdy and durable just as they were in the 90’s. Now onto the denim jacket - the flare sleeves and patchwork colour washes are all you need to take note of. This is the point of difference vs a regular boyfriend style. Plus I mentioned in my last post I was after a new pant suit. Both pieces are actually designed as a matching set after all. It’s not quite what I had in mind, but it’s halfway there and works oh so well on casual Fridays! This set will also work well separated. I can already vision these jeans with a button up white shirt, checked blazer and heels. Can you tell I have spent way too much time on Pinterest?
