Winter Whites

I’m a huge fan of an all white look in the colder months. It always reminds me of Christmas at my sisters place, snuggled up on the sofa with a hot tea and the log furnace burning. Matching my neutrals to her minimalistic furnishings with the snow falling outside! I’ve always loved wearing this one tone palette , and it’s a stronger look when layered with texture mix. If it was colder in Sydney, I would have definitely added a white or cream coat for extra warmth! Last weekend, I ventured to Paddington to shoot with Laurie from The Rue Collective blog. We are both a fan of minimal colour, and came across some beautiful white houses which were the backdrop to our looks.

Last month, I was introduced to the brand Al Et Clar. Named after the designers Alicia and Clarissa, their brand focuses on minimal and contemporary designs that are accessible without compromising on quality. After scrolling through their designs, I knew this white shirt would work with my style. A tailored crisp white shirt with layers was a winner, and seemed fitting to add an ivory pencil skirt to keep the look linear. A fluffy cardigan for warmth is a must this time of year, and the off white colour adds more depth to the look.

Now onto the shoes…….How good are they?? Seriously my favourite loafers at the moment, and surprise surprise, they match my monochrome wardrobe! It’s nice to wear a smart flat with tailored looks that are so eye-catching  Even styled with an all black look, they rock. And the white and beige sole means that wearing a light coloured look matches them well. I can’t wait to start wearing these in the spring with midi skirts and culottes. I just need to find a kick ass bag that will compliment them well!

Hope you’ve all had an awesome weekend. This week I’ve been as sick as a dog. Was struck out the beginning of the week with a sinus and eye infection so just starting to get back to my usual self again. I’ve had a turning point in my diet this last week, and trying to make a more conscious effort to eat more healthy and eat more frequently, ready in time for the summer.

Stay tuned for my post midweek where I’m showcasing my bedroom decor! Had a lot of fun redesigning the space, and finally have some of my behind the lens photography displayed!

Pastels On The Pier

Last weekend I was lucky enough to review one of the most luxe hotels in Sydney: Pier One. I fell in love with the place after an event for the toiletries brand Appelles Skin. The hotel stretches along Pier One, which conveniently is under the Harbour Bridge….hello best view in the city! As the hotels decor channels nautical chic, it only seemed appropriate to wear a brand that oozes contoured lines and sleek silhouettes to tie in with Pier One’s theme. The weather was beautiful and the balcony of the room was the first place to capture these shots. As you know, I am a sucker for light and shadows, so couldn’t pass on the perfectly timed position of the sun with light play through the balustrades.

This two piece set has the perfect balance of fitted and loose style. The tops classic style and turtle neck adds sophistication, yet the wide legged pants are contemporary and pushes the boundaries on tailoring. Bec & Bridge are masters at reinventing tailoring pieces for the fashion forward lady. Their fabrics are lightweight and effortless movement is what comes to mind when I think of this duo. Therefore the harbour breeze on the balcony was the perfect place to portray this.

A smart tailored coat, should be in everyones winter wardrobe. In my case, a base colour of either black, grey or navy. It’s easy to style and instantly makes an outfit smarter. To finish the look off, I added a trusty pair of Jo Mercer suede snake like ankle boots and John Hardy silver accoutrements. I was fascinated by this bamboo ring, and here’s a little fact for you: For every bamboo piece purchased, the brand plant 4 bamboo seedlings. Nearly one million has been planted to date!

Stay tuned for my review of Pier One Hotel in the coming days, I can’t wait to show you where I stayed. You won’t want to miss snaps of the breathtaking view!
