Folk Flare

As you have probably seen on Boho Behind The Lens, I recently visited Paperbark Camp in Jervis Bay. located in the bush, it seemed the perfect spot to rock some heavy duty denim flares and a boho take on an Akubra. Coins on the brim for an added touch. There were so many cool spots to take the shots, I couldn’t settle for just one! These Mavi jeans are the kind of comfort you feel after years of wear. They have a good amount of stretch and are high waisted, which make me feel a little taller than I am! For me, Country Road are killing it in the knitwear department this season (I actually have another post featuring their knits coming next week!). Sticking to my roots with the neutrals, this grey pullover is perfect for autumn as it’s quite a delicate knit. I love how it ties at the front to reveal the waistband of the jeans. Looking at the pictures now, I wish I had a cool black leather belt to pair them. It’s on the shopping list! Tan boots are a new thing for me. My line up of footwear at the base of my bed = an all black love affair, so it’s nice to introduce a new colour into my wardrobe. And tan always looks good with denim.

One thing that really appeals to me with this outfit post is the lighting. If you follow me on Instagram, you are probably aware that I am a sucker for shadows at the moment and playing with light. And I want to incorporate this more into my style posts this autumn. The trees at the resort played fair and let just enough speckled light to shine through. And the reflection on the wooden beams meant it was love at first sight when it came to location. When it comes to hair, I am still getting used to the bob, but thankfully my hairdresser Paul has taught me how to style a vintage wave with a curling wand. It adds volume and bounce and it’s nice to mix things up a little! I just want to say amazing job to my bf who took these shots for me and it was his first time! 10/10 for positive directing and making the day so much fun.

Stay tuned for my second outfit post coming soon! Enjoy your weekend folks!
