Sweat Pants And Heels

Silky sweats….An item I have recently discovered and wish I found them sooner. When it comes to pants, my first option would usually be a good pair of jeans. Day to day I’m a fan of comfort, adding  luxe accessories to polish off the look. But after seeing sweatpants rocked with heels at the Feb Fashion Weeks I decided it was time to give the jeans a rest and try something new. Incase you didn’t know - I have a 30” inside leg, which means flat shoes are not always the best option when wearing full length pants. That’s where the heels come in - they do wonders for a look like this, and the vertical stripe along the outside of the leg elongates my leg length. Genius!

Today’s cashmere boyfriend tee is perfect for the unpredictable Sydney weather. It’s not quite cold enough to be wearing full sleeve knits right now (secretly wishing for that day!) so the cap sleeve option is a must have for transeasonal styling. It also looks cute tucked into high waisted mom jeans. As mentioned at the start of year, staple, long lasting pieces have to be at the forefront of my mind when adding new items to my wardrobe. Having this sustainable mindset means these pieces will be worn over and over which is the only way I want to shop. Add a pop of lip colour to brighten up the monochrome tones and you’re good to go!

The best thing about this look - It can be layered, so will be perfect for peak winter. I would probably switch the cap sleeves for a chunky cable knit or sweatshirt adding a double breasted coat for the colder months. Even swapping out the stilettos for kitten heeled boots.

Stripes & Tassels

A couple of weekends back I made the trip to Melbourne for a relaxing weekend after snowboarding. Living in sneakers and thick socks the last couple of weeks, it was time to break out the stilettos for an urban bohemian styled look with tassels and a bit of leg! Even though Melbourne is a short flight south of Sydney, the temperatures in this concrete jungle are a closer comparison to the UK! Melbourne, much like Sydney is the ideal location to find your footing within the modelling world. Modeling agencies in Melbourne represent some of the worlds most famous and fashionable faces.Thankfully my boyfriend and I had a great cosy hotel to hibernate in when we weren’t checking out the local eateries. I was thrilled to meet up with fellow style blogger, Ina from Rose Taupe blog. I’ve met a few of the Melbourne bloggers over the last 6 months so it was great to meet and get to know her relaxed style over a collaboration behind and in front of the lens. I wish I could have seen some of the other girls, but the trip was planned to relax after our jam packed weekend in the mountains. I definitely need to revisit Melbourne for a blog trip in the near future.

Today’s look is channelling a more boho vibe, but I’ve tried to make it more city chic with a tailored coat and a warm knit and heels. This dress has great movement, and wish I could wear it on it’s on own. Unfortunately it's still too cold. Such a fan of the tassels still, and can see me taking this trend through to summer. Layering I am still holding onto, so this Staple The Label jumper is a nice contrast to the lightweight fabric of the dress. The longline fitted coat adds structure to the look and even though the outfit has a few layers, it doesn’t look too heavy. The high heels elongate the silhouette, which is always welcomed! That said, I love wearing flat shoes for more relaxed, off duty days and my feet thank me for it!

I promise I will have spring looks coming soon! I am just savouring my favourite fashion season for as long as possible! The weather seems to be heating up in Sydney, so will be shooting an editorial styled post on the beach in the next couple of weeks to revisit the coastline. I live in Bondi, so new excuse really! Have a great week guys!

Silky Boho

It’s officially knitwear season in Sydney! And I must say, one of my favourites. There’s something beautiful about a chilly morning with the sunshine beaming down. I remember those autumn days fondly in NYC. This season is sometimes a difficult one to style. A mix of bare legs and covered arms, it still confuses me to this day! Will I need a scarf? A jacket? Sydney weather is a little crazy at the moment. I leave the house like a winter in Vancouver and return with my laptop bag stuffed with the layers that I am removing throughout the day!

Today’s look is trans seasonal. If you want to add a jacket, I would definitely suggest either a straight up black leather, or an oversize cardigan. Usually I channel either a boho look or a tailored look, but felt like mixing both styles today with a silk tailored skirt and a trusty bohemian fedora. The look is a little playful and has an aspect of folk to it. The movement of this skirt is a dream and couldn’t resist a few dancing shots to show off the shape! H&M in Melbourne is seriously the best store I have been too. Not only do they have ‘The Studio Collection’, but the merchandising and building itself is well created down to the finest detail. The gold light fixtures and architectural white roof is definitely a interior designers dream!

I paired the skirt with a plain white tee and warm scarf with charcoal notes, to compliment my dark boots. How cool are the open design on the sides? The heel is just the right size for everyday, and they look good with denim cutoffs too.

Excited to share with you my upcoming trip this weekend! My first resort review will be up on the blog next week! And I have some cosy knitwear pieces to share with you. Keep up to date on my Instagram for a live update of my whereabouts! More to be revealed on Sunday!
