A Day At The Markets

When Saturday comes around, there’s nothing better than hitting up Glebe markets with the girls. It’s definitely the best for a good bargain and have never left empty handed! This week I was lucky enough to get brand new One Teaspoon denim shorts for just $30! I’ve wanted a pair for a while so was thrilled to score them in time for the summer. It was so fun catching up with my blogging buddies Alisha and Jo. The market was bustling, and at 10am it was already heating up for a scorching day. Coming into summer, I think it’s important to wear a hat to protect myself from the sun, so you might see a few too many posts with a fedora to come.

I am in love with this Faithfull The Brand dress. I literally discovered the brand on Instagram. If you love off the shoulder and pinstripes with a bohemian twist, this is the label for you. Their new collection is literally to die for, and can’t get enough of it. Currently they have the best white top with black pinstripes that bares shoulders. So nice with a pair of denim cut offs and casual Birkenstocks for the warmer days that will be gracing Sydney. Last week I had my hair lightened and I'm thrilled with the results. I've gone a shade lighter in my Ombre. After an amazing treatment, my hair felt super soft. If you are looking for a new hairdresser in Sydney hit up Paul Anthony based in Potts Point. His work is amazing and his attention to detail is spot on!

It’s exactly one year since I launched the blog, and as of next week I’ll be refreshing it a little with a new name! It won’t be all that different, but felt with the change of habitat and a slight change in style it seemed appropriate. Thanks again for all your support on both here and on my Instagram page (bohochic_nlt) It really menas a lot to me and makes the evening blog sessions straight from work really worth it. I’ve also met the best people since first launching and can’t wait to meet more creative fashionistas in the months to come.

Hope you have all had a great weekend, and a chilled Sunday night!

Blue Hues

Baby blue has finally snuck into my monochrome wardrobe! An early summer is gracing Sydney, so thought it was time to brighten things up a little (in baby steps of course!) I am still a minimalist at heart, but when I set my eyes on this Maven the Label dress I just had to have it. It’s sheer for the warm weather, so decided to team with a pair of trusty pleather shorts. Sports luxe style always seems to make a look that touch more cooler, so this mesh number was a winner. I can even see myself wearing this with a bikini at the beach. And with all the build up for Alexander Wang for H&M, I think the sporty styles will be sticking around for the next couple of months.

Last week I met up with fellow blogger and friend Andrea at the Grounds Of Alexandria. It was an early start attending a smoothie event which was the perfect way to wake up! Plus, the free fruit basket was a great prop for the outfit shots we captured. I must say, Not a fan of the walk from the train station when the temperature is 25 degrees at 9am. My little British body isn’t used the heat quite yet! I’ve definitely decided that a smoothie maker is on my list for the summer. For the last couple of years, green juice has been a good boost for me. But smoothies are definitely a better option in the warner months and a good breakfast option. If anyone has any good recipes please let me know!

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend, and here’s the start to a new week with exciting things to come!

White Jeans

When I lived in New York, it was unheard of to wear white after September Labour Day. Thankfully, that rule doesn't exist in Australia! Thank you southern hemisphere! Is anyone else as excited as me for the arrival of spring? This weekend was glorious and it makes me excited for summer days at the beach, picnics with friends and trying my luck again at paddle boarding. I’ve already been planning some cool trips with friends, which incorporates fun blog shoots and exploring more of what Australia has to offer. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been in Australia nearly six months without a trip out of Sydney! I’m itching to see new beaches and dying to go on weekends away road tripping now the weather is co-operating!

This post is the second part of my collaboration with Backstage By Jo and Camille from Frilly Skirts Blog. I must say, we were greeted with some unpleasant weather at the start of the day but we grin and beared it all in the name of fashion. I love these kind of shoots. It’s the best way to be introduced to brands that I’ve never heard of and fun times with the girls. As we are all bloggers, we know what each other is looking for aesthetically, so try and get the best shots for each other. We probably take about 70-80 shots per look, and then select the best ones for the blogpost. I really enjoy being behind the camera and it’s good practice to always have the brands in mind when taking the pictures. There’s nothing better than to see your shots on their websites and social media pages. Since being in Sydney, it’s been really important to stay true to my style and build professional relationships with these brands. Part of the fun is to build connections and have the owners appreciate the work of bloggers.

Today’s look is definitely one for a day without rain! I have always looked for the best white jeans. They always look killer with a bit of tan midriff showing and a relaxed tee. Perfect for a chilled weekend. It’s tough finding the right style, as skinny jeans in the lighter colours can sometimes do no justice for your booty! So I opted for this boyfriend fit and rolled them up. Rips are a must this season. I styled with this knitted Talulah top which has the most flattering sleeves. The jumper is a little boxy, which I think will also look trendy with denim or leather shorts and Birks for a relaxed brunch. The rose gold jewellery matched the metallic stitching in the top, which Camille did an excellent job at capturing. Rule of thumb - When in doubt of a jacket, opt for a leather!

Us three girls had a great weekend and there are lots of collaborations to follow with some new bloggers I have met this month. Can’t wait to share these pictures with you.

Have a great week!
