Weekend Habitat: Raes on Wategos Byron Bay

Step inside the perfectly curated Raes on Wategos, Byron Bay. There are a number of properties in the world that are on my bucket list to experience and photograph. Raes is one of them. This boutique hotel has seven individually designed rooms, each with their own individuality encapsulating the Byron Bay charm. A short walk to the beach, the sunset is one of the most breathtaking I've experienced. Every detail is carefully thought about. From the background music, amenities, and staff that make sure your comfort and experience is of upmost priority. The Aesop travel size toiletries are an added bonus.

Party Season Texture Mix

It’s not very often I dress up to the nines for a night out. When I was a student, I would more often than not choose an embellished dress styled to the max with accessories. Oh how things have changed! Fast forward to this year, silk is high up on my list for party season. It’s also a fabric that can be styled in multiple ways dependent on the party you are going to. I have opted to style with knitwear, mainly because I am a huge fan of contrasting. This thigh splitting skirt is versatile to be carried through to the colder months with a pair of killer ankle boots. You don’t always have to splurge on an outfit to be worn once. I always have that in the back of my mind when shopping for occasions.

The one shoulder: Chic and sexy for most seasons. There are a variety of silk, cotton and knitted available depending on your climate. It’s heating up here in Aus. Thankfully evenings by the water can be a bit windy, so the added warmth is actually welcomed. Last week was my first time on a private charter boat in Australia, and a chunky knit was appreciated whilst the sun was setting. This look would have been perfect.

To jazz up my look, I have opted for a geometric neck tie in warm caramel colour, layered with gold accessories. As mentioned in previous posts, it’s good to keep all warm tones together. I actually can’t remember the last time I wore silver.

Weekend Luxury: The Palm Beach Collection

Last weekend, Chris and I headed to the Northern Beaches for a city escape like no other. Tranquility listening to the afternoon storm post 42 degree temperatures are those kind of days I love. A space to clear your mind and relax. A clean bright home filled with white walls and wooden touches throughout. Pittwater from one balcony, Palm Beach from the other. And now it's back to reality. A much needed break where memories were made. This property is the newly listed property from Contemporary Hotels Palm Beach collection.

Inspired By Europe

Sydney keeps giving me new streets to explore, and today’s location was not too far from Andrea’s apartment. As i’m a bit of a snob when it comes to colour, I love clean white streets that remind me of Paris and London. There’s something really beautiful about minimalism, and laneways with character. The street I shot on today was so small and quiet, but as soon as you get to the end it’s manic with commuters and cars all in a rush to be somewhere. But for that brief moment photographing this look, I took my mind to a French village and imagined a marina within walking distance.

All white is a trend I am still not breaking up with. Especially now that it’s officially summer in Australia! And lets be honest, it’s the best colour with a tan. Another trend I am obsessing over this season is the thigh high split maxi. It’s sexy and bohemian all in the same breath and looks awesome with slides or ankle boots for a more edgy look. This Elliatt style has the curved design which is a nice change to the floaty ones I’ve been wearing on casual days. This August Street tailored vest makes the look a lot more trans seasonal. It’s plunging on the neckline so a small bralet or crop top fits well underneath.
